Mary B Mason loves to create statement jewelry and sculpture by combining glass, stones and found objects to form unique 3D pieces. The statement jewelry and sculpture invoke meaning and communicate a specific environmental or social intention, creating dialogue with the viewer.
As a lifelong art maker and art educator, spanning several decades and four states, Mary has incorporated many experiences from the classroom and beyond; from teaching copper enameling to 6th graders to being mentored at the Appalachian Rock Shop by experienced metal smiths. In her home studio she uses a myriad of tools to manipulate metal and melt colors in a kiln or with fire, which is exciting and produces rewarding results.
Her membership in several guilds such as Associated Artists of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh Society of Artists and the Society of Sculptors offers many opportunities to exhibit my work in galleries and museums in the tri-state area.
As a founding member of the Cranberry Artists Network, she enjoys the camaraderie of other artists, volunteering and being involved in many wonderful local art events.
